Medication management
Thoughtful, evidence-based medication evaluation and ongoing adjustment. We aim for the lowest effective dose, clear goals, and treatment decisions you understand.
What is medication management?
Medication management in psychiatry involves evaluation, careful prescribing, and ongoing adjustment to find the right medication at the right dose for your symptoms and situation. It is not trial-and-error; it is a deliberate process informed by your history, your body's response, and your life context.
What does it look like here?
Our approach to medication management is grounded in careful listening and pattern recognition. We take time to understand not only your current symptoms, but how prior treatments have affected mood, sleep, energy, cognition, and overall functioning. We consider sleep physiology, stress response, medical comorbidities, and medication tolerability.
We aim to use the lowest effective dose, establish clear goals, and define exit criteria whenever possible, avoiding unnecessary polypharmacy. You will always understand why a medication is being recommended, what we are monitoring, and how adjustments will be made if something is not working. You get a say in the decisions.
