Mental health care that fits college life
Psychiatric care for University of Iowa students and young adults. ADHD evaluations, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and medication management. Downtown Iowa City, a few blocks from campus, and by telehealth anywhere in Iowa.
Sound familiar?
These are the things students tell us about. If several fit, an evaluation can help sort out what is going on.
- Can't concentrate even though you are studying constantly
- Procrastinating until assignments become emergencies
- Anxiety before exams or presentations
- Sleeping at 3 AM and missing morning classes
- Feeling overwhelmed after moving away from home
- Medication that worked before college does not seem to be working anymore
- Unsure whether it is ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, or poor sleep
We look at the whole picture
Trouble focusing has many possible causes. An evaluation here covers your current symptoms, your history, how things are going at school and at home, sleep, and any medications. The goal is an accurate answer, whether that turns out to be ADHD, anxiety, depression, poor sleep, or something else. We do not promise a diagnosis before we have met you.
Closer than your next class
Our office is at 209 E. Burlington St. in downtown Iowa City, a short walk from campus. In-person visits there are coming soon. Right now appointments are by telehealth, which works from a dorm room or apartment anywhere in Iowa with a private space and an internet connection, so care can continue over breaks spent elsewhere in the state. We see adults 18 and older.
Getting started
Kiran Annam, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, is accepting new patients. He accepts Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare plans; without insurance, an initial visit is $200 and a follow-up is $100. If you would rather ask questions first, we offer a complimentary 15-minute intro call.
